Emily is a dancer, choreographer and teacher from Abbotsford, BC. Emily has over 20 years of dance experience, which includes ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, acrobatics, musical theatre/stage, hip hop and tap. She has had the opportunity to train and perform nationally and internationally. Emily has earned awards including a Nuvo Artist Breakout Award Winner and was selected to compete as a Senior Stage Soloist at the BC Provincials in both 2014 and 2015, earning honorable mention in 2015.
Post-graduation, Emily continued her dance training with Modus Operandi in Vancouver BC, directed by Tiffany Tregarthen, David Raymond and Kate Franklin. Here she trained intensively in contemporary, ballet, and improvisation. Emily learned from amazing artists such as Francesca Frewer and Emmanuelle Le Phan. In the program she had the opportunity to perform in the Vancouver International Dance Festival 2020 and the Dance in Vancouver Festival 2019, performing works by Alanna Kraaijeveld and Justine A. Chambers. Emily trained while also earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with high distinction at the University of British Columbia, double majoring in Psychology and Sociology.
For over 6 years Emily has taught all styles for recreational and competitive students aged 2-18, and has won numerous awards for her teaching and choreography. Emily instills kindness and determination in her dancers and is so excited to join the SHIFT team!
