Ali grew up on the North Shore and comes from an extensive background in classical ballet, repertoire, modern, jazz, and flamenco. She obtained her training through Arts Umbrella’s Professional Training Program and Summer Dance Intensives, studying under some of Vancouver’s finest instructors and world-renowned choreographers; including, Wen Wei Wang of Wen Wei Dance, Emily Molnar of Ballet BC, and Glenn Gilmour of National Ballet School. She also received private instruction from Marie-Elle Carrothers of both Les Grands Ballet Canadiens & Anna Wyman School of Dance Arts, and performed with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company in productions of the Nutcracker and Beauty and the Beast. When Ali wasn’t dancing, she spent her time in recreational gymnastics, music & other artistic expressions, and enjoying the great Pacific Northwest that she loves so much.
After an injury forced her to retire her professional dance career, she shifted her focus toward her affinity for organization and running the show in administrative environments. Ali is thrilled to be joining the Shift Dance team as its latest addition, and looks forward to the opportunity to combine her passions for dance and coordinating, while being continually inspired by the Academy’s students and faculty!
